Easy Maths

...Easy Maths...

1. 10 times tables.
I work out my ten times table by adding a ‘0’ to the first number on the sum.
EXAMPLE:
6 x 10 = 60.
678 x 10 = 6780.

2. 11 times tables.
I work out my eleven times tables by adding the same number to the first number.
EXAMPLE:
7 x 11 = 77.

3. 5 times tables
I work out my five time tables by adding 5 more or less than the even number.
EXAMPLE:
6 x 5 = 30 So...
7 x 5 = 35

4. 0 times tables
The answers for the zero times tables are always zero.
EXAMPLE
4 x 0 = 0.

5. 6 times tables
5 times tables and then plus.
EXAMPLE:
5 X 5 = 25
SO... 6 x 5 = 30

6. 9 times tables
10 x minus.
1. Finger
Example:
9 x 4: put your fourth finger down and count the rest of your fingers. The fingers to the left of the bent finger are counted in tens.  (30) Fingers to the right are counted in ones. (6) =36
2. 10x minus:
Example: 9x4= 10 x 4  (40) - 4 = 36.
3. Breaking up.
Break up numbers into timetables I know.
9 x 6:
9 x 3 = 27
9 x 3 = 27
27 + 27 = 54.
4. Count in 9’s:
9, 18, 27.......
