My Report On Neil Armstrong

Neil Alden Armstrong is a famous person. He was the first person ever to step on the moon.
Neil Armstrong was born on the 5th of August in the year 1930 in Wapakoneta, Ohio. His dad was Stephen Koenig Armstrong and his mum Viola Louise Engel. Stephen worked as an auditor. His father had a last move to Wapakoneta in 1944. There Neil attended Blume High School. Neil started taking flying lessons at the County Airport. Neil was only 15 when he earned his own flying certificate.

There wasn’t a single defining moment in Neil’s decision to become an astronaut. Neil was chosen for the US Air Force ‘ Soonest man in space program.’ On March 15th 1962, he was specially named as 1 out of six pilot engineers to fly and be the pilot of the space plane after it got designed.

They launched the Apollo rocket at the Kennedy space centre. In the rocket, there were a group of three. They were Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Edwin Aldrin JR. When the rocket landed on the moon Neil said “The Eagle has Landed.” Edwin and Neil were arguing about who should be first to step on the moon. They decided Neil Armstrong would be first because he was more photogenic. Neil Armstrong stepped on the moon and then Edwin Aldrin. When Neil Armstrong stepped on the moon, he said “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”
Neil Armstrong died on the 25th of August in 2012. He died in Cincinnati.

Neil Armstrong will be best remembered for walking on the moon.
