‘Desk Inspection,
before recess’
I discovered
what was in my desk.
A drenched shoe
that I picked up and threw.
A shaggy rat
that was extremely fat.
A rotten banana
that was a present from Santa.
You wouldn’t imagine
what the students went through,
they all screamed
“Clean your horrible desk
before we puke!”
