My Report On Valerie Adams


My report on Valerie Adams.

Valerie Kasanita Adams is a famous New Zealand shot putter. She has broken many records and has won a lot of gold medals. Valerie Adams is making New Zealand proud because she is hardworking and her well earned gold medals.


Valerie was born on the October the 6th 1984 in Rotorua, New Zealand. Valerie Adams is 6ft5 and she weighs 120 kilograms. Her mum is Tongan and her dad is English. Her dad’s name is Sydney Adams and her mum’s name is Lilika Ngauamo. She had several brothers over 7ft tall. One of her brother’s name is Steven Adams. Now Adams’s brother is the basketball prodigy. He has a scholarship to United States.

Valerie Adams had several coaches. Her first coach was Kirsten Heliers. Kirsten Heliers was a famous javelin thrower. Kirsten coached Valerie Adams for eleven years. Her second coach was Didier Poppe. Her third coach was Jean Pierre Egger.

Valerie Adams was one of the seven athletes that has won championships at the youth, junior and senior of an athletic event. Valerie was first noticed after winning the World Youth Championships in 2001 with an outstanding throw of 16.87 metres. In 2002, she became World Junior Champion with a throw of 17.73 metres.

Valerie Adams is making New Zealand proud for all the effort she has put in to shot-putting. It’s sad she didn’t get a gold medal but she has made New Zealand and herself proud.
